Organizers of East Coast Music Week in Cape Breton say it was a great success.
The Week wrapped up yesterday after five days of festivities on the Island.
It included more than 33 shows, 6-hundred plus performers and more than 8,000 fans.
The estimated economic spinoff is around $3 million.
Industry Awards were handed out during the final day of the ECMA’s yesterday with Point Aconi’s Lakewind Sound Studio taking home two awards.
Studio co-owner Fred Lavery was given the industry builder award, while Mike (Sheppy) Shepherd was named the studio engineer of the year.
And, Jack O’Donnell picked up the Dr. Helen Creighton Lifetime Achievement Award for his 50 years of work as musical director and conductor of the Men of the Deeps choir.
