One Of Three People Charged After Joneil Hanna’s Death Due In Court

One of three people charged after the death of 17 year-old Joneil Hanna from North Sydney is due in court today.
Hanna died after being hit by an SUV while walking home from a grad party in Leitches Creek on June 10th.
Regional Police say 21 year-old Hayden Kenneth Laffin from Bras d’Or was the driver.

He faces a charge of attempting to obstruct justice.
However, police say officers determined there was no evidence Laffin was impaired at the time and had no grounds to demand a breathalyser test.
52 year-old Kenneth Wilkie and 49 year-old Donna Wilkie, from Leitches Creek, are charged with allowing drunkenness on their property.

They’re due in court on September 18th.
