Olivia Is Top Baby Name in 2021

Service Nova Scotia says Olivia is the favourite baby name for 2021.

The other top 10 names are Jack, Noah, Oliver, Owen, Levi, Ava, Henry, Benjamin, and William.

New names gaining popularity are Aurora, Declan and Bennett, with some old favourites coming back, including Liam and Charlotte.

There were 6,946 registered births in the province this year as of yesterday.

Nova Scotia began formally registering births on August 1, 1864, and the most popular names that year were Mary and John.
