NW Man Sentenced For Messes Theft

The former manager of the military’s Sydney Garrison messes was given a 90-day jail sentence for theft today.

68 year-old David Joseph Mullins from New Waterford will serve his sentence on weekends.

Mullins was found guilty in July of stealing more than $5,000 from the operation.

A second charge of fraud was withdrawn by the judge.

In addition to his jail sentence, Mullins was given 3 years’ probation and a restitution order totaling $28,000.
