Number Of People On Family Doctor Waiting List Dropped By More Than 6,400 Last Month

The province says there were 77,526 people on the waiting list for a family doctor or nurse practitioner as of October 1st.

That’s a drop of 6,453 from September 1st.

The Health Authority says that number accounts for people newly added to the Need a Family Practice Registry.

It also accounts for people removed because they were attached to a family doctor or nurse practitioner or people removed because they were found to no longer need a family doctor or nurse practitioner for a variety of reasons.

The percentage of the province’s population on the registry is now 7.3%.
