The province is reporting a record 182 cases of COVID-19 today.
155 of those cases are in the Central Zone and 16 are in the Eastern Zone that includes Cape Breton, while 7 are in the Northern Zone and 4 are in the Western Zone.
Premier Iain Rankin told reporters earlier today he expected the numbers to be high and he also said he’s willing to consider further restrictions if necessary.
There’s now a total of over 1,300 confirmed active cases of COVID-19 in Nova Scotia, including 77 in the Cape Breton County Community Health Network and 20 in the Inverness, Victoria and Richmond Community Health Network.
45 people in the province are in hospital with the virus, including nine in intensive care.
Rankin and Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Robert Strang are scheduled to give another COVID-19 update at 1:00 tomorrow afternoon.
