NS Reports Five New COVID Cases, Confirms One New Variant Case

The province is reporting five new cases of COVID-19 today, including one in the Cape Breton County Community Health Network.

It’s also reporting another variant case has been found among earlier cases.

Health officials say two new cases reported in the Eastern Zone today are related to travel outside Atlantic Canada, as are three new cases reported  in the Central Zone.

The UK variant has been confirmed in a Nova Scotian who is living and working outside the province and has not been in close contact with anyone in the province.

There’s now a total of 40 confirmed active cases of COVID-19 in Nova Scotia.

Three of those cases are in the Cape Breton County Community Health Network and two are in the Inverness, Victoria and Richmond Community Health Network.
