NS Reports COVID-Related Death, Eight New Cases

There are no new COVID-19 cases to report in Cape Breton today but the province is reporting another person has died because of the virus.  

It says a woman in her 80s has died in the Central Zone.

There have now been 90 COVID-19 deaths in Nova Scotia since the start of the pandemic.

A total of eight new cases are being reported today and all eight are in the Central Zone.  

22 recoveries are also being reported today.

There’s now a total of 124 confirmed active cases of COVID-19 in Nova Scotia, including 37 in the Cape Breton County Community Health Network and one in the Inverness, Victoria and Richmond Community Health Network.

Six people in the province are now in hospital with the virus, including four in intensive care.

Premier Iain Rankin and chief medical officer of health Dr. Robert Strang are scheduled to hold their next COVID-19 update at 3:00 tomorrow afternoon.
