NS Reports COVID Death, 7 Cases

The province is reporting another COVID-19 death, along with seven new cases of the virus.

The person who died was a man in his 60’s in the Western Zone.

Two of the cases reported today are in the Eastern Zone that includes Cape Breton and one of them is in the Cape Breton County Community Health Network.

Health officials say one of the new Eastern Zone cases is a close contact of an earlier reported case and the other is under investigation.

They’re also reporting four new cases in the Central Zone and one in the Northern Zone.

With five new recoveries, there’s now a total of 50 known active cases of COVID-19 in the province, including 3 in the Cape Breton County Community Health Network.

77.5% of the province’s population has had at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, while just under 70% are fully vaccinated.
