NS Reports COVID Death, 59 New Cases, More School Exposures

The province is reporting another COVID-19 death and 59 new cases of the virus since the last report on Friday and there have been more school exposures in the Cape Breton-Victoria Regional Centre for Education.

Health officials say the person who died was a man in his 70s in the Eastern Zone that includes Cape Breton.

Of the new cases reported today, five are in the Eastern Zone.

There’s also 44 new cases in the Central Zone, with six in the Northern Zone and four in the Western Zone.

The province is reporting more exposures at Boularderie Elementary, as well as at T.L. Sullivan in Florence.

It says all students, parents and staff will be notified if a positive case was at a school while infected.

With 61 more recoveries being reported today, there’s now a total of 166 confirmed active cases of COVID-19 in Nova Scotia, including 13 cases in the Regional Municipality.

10 people in the province are now in hospital with the virus and none are in intensive care.
