The province is reporting 13 new cases of COVID-19 today.
Six of those cases are in the Eastern Zone that includes Cape Breton.
Of those cases, three are close contacts of earlier reported cases, two are related to travel and one is under investigation.
Premier Iain Rankin says the new Eastern Zone cases are mainly in Sydney.
The other seven cases reported today are all in the Central Zone.
Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Robert Strang is continuing to encourage people to get their second dose of COVID-19 vaccine when they can, especially in the face of the threat of the delta variant.
The province is reporting 20 recoveries today and there’s now a total of 164 confirmed active cases of COVID-19 in Nova Scotia.
41 of those cases are in the Cape Breton County Community Health Network and 2 are in the Inverness, Victoria and Richmond Community Health Network.
There are now 17 people in the province in hospital with the virus, including 7 in intensive care.
