NS Reporting Three COVID-19 Deaths, Two Hospitalizations, Hospital Outbreak, 263 Cases

The province is reporting three more COVID-19 deaths, as well as two hospitalizations and a new outbreak at Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital.

It says fewer than ten patients have tested positive in the latest outbreak at the hospital.

Health officials say the people who died were a man in his 60s and a woman in her 70s, both in the Central Zone, and a man in his 90s in the Northern Zone.

As of late this afternoon, there were 53 people in the province in hospital after being admitted because of COVID-19, including 12 people in intensive care.

The province is also reporting 263 new lab-confirmed cases of the virus since the last report on Sunday.

Of those cases, 103 are in the Central Zone, with 47 in the Eastern Zone, 54 in the Northern Zone and 59 in the Western Zone.

Premier Tim Houston and Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Robert Strang are scheduled to give another COVID-19 update at 3:00 tomorrow afternoon.
