NS Reporting Surplus For Last Fiscal Year

The Province is reporting a surplus of $350.9 million for the fiscal year that ended on March 31st.

That’s an increase of $243.2 million from the final forecasted surplus of $107.7 million in the spring budget.

It’s also an unprecedented turnaround from a projected deficit of $584.9 million a year earlier.

The year end net debt was $16.6 billion.

The net debt to GDP ratio decreased from 35 per cent to 32.2 per cent.
