NS Firefighters Going to B-C

British Columbia has formally asked this province for help in fighting its forest fires.

The provincial government says a 21-person crew from the Department of Natural Resources is leaving Halifax early Monday morning.

It adds the crew includes 20 on-the-ground firefighters and an on-site manager to help direct the crew’s efforts.

They’ll be in B.C. for two weeks.

Nova Scotia’s crew will join crews from New Brunswick, P.E.I., Newfoundland and Labrador, and Quebec.
