Not Guilty Plea Entered In Assault Case Involving GB High Students

One of eight Glace Bay High students charged after a 42 year-old man was attacked in October has pleaded not guilty to an assault charge.

18-year-old Christopher Alexander Cameron from Dominion was not in court today when his lawyer entered the plea on his behalf.

Seven other students have pleaded guilty to charges of assault in the case and are going through restorative justice.

The students were charged after a video surfaced online showing a group of teens punching and kicking a man on a footpath between Glace Bay High and Superstore.

Regional Police say the man who was attacked was treated for minor injuries at the scene.

Cameron remains free while he awaits a pre-trial hearing on March 15th.

A trial has been scheduled for May 31st.
