People who are concerned about the state of health care in Cape Breton will have a chance to have their say this afternoon in North Sydney.
The Northsiders for the Northside General event will take place from 3 to 5 this afternoon at the Cape Breton County Exhibition Grounds on Regent Street.
Master of ceremonies Gordon MacDonald says locals have been left in the dark about recent health-care decisions.
In June, Stephen McNeil’s Liberal government announced plans for sweeping changes to the delivery of health care in Cape Breton, including the closure of hospitals in New Waterford and North Sydney.
MacDonald says all elected officials have been invited, however Health Minister Randy Delorey says he will not attend the meeting, citing commitments in his Antigonish riding.
The meeting will be held inside the main arena.
