The Health Authority says the Urgent Treatment Centre at the Northside General Hospital in North Sydney is opening its doors and phone lines a half hour earlier.
It says the centre will now operate Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 8:00 in the morning to 7:30 at night and Wednesdays and Saturdays from 9:00 in the morning to 4:30 in the afternoon.
The centre sees people with unexpected, non-life-threatening health concerns who require an appointment within one or two days.
The Centre opened on November 1st to relieve some of the pressure created by a lack of family doctors and closed emergency departments at Cape Breton hospitals.
