Non-Urgent Surgeries Being Postponed At QEII Because Of COVID-19

The Health Authority says some non-urgent surgeries scheduled for the QEII in Halifax will be postponed, starting on Monday.

It says the reason is a rapidly growing number of health staff having to stay out of the workplace because of exposures to COVID-19.

Nova Scotia Health says surgeries are also being postponed to maintain intensive care bed capacity.

It says patients affected will be contacted directly by their surgeon’s office.
