Nominations Closed For Two Cape Breton By-Elections

Nominations have closed for two provincial by-elections in Cape Breton on September 3rd.

Five candidates are on the ballot in Sydney River-Mira-Louisbourg.

Marc Botte is the Liberal hopeful, Mary Beth MacDonald is running for the NDP and Brian Comer is carrying the Progressive Conservative banner.

Green Party candidate Bill Matheson and independent Russ Green round out the field.

There’s a crowded field in Northside-Westmount where seven candidates are vying for the seat.

Paul Ratchford is the Liberal candidate, Ronald Crowther is running for the NDP and Murray Ryan is carrying the Progressive Conservative banner.

Ron Parker is the Green candidate and Thomas Bethel is running for the Atlantica Party.

And Andrew Doyle and Danny Laffin are running as independents.
