No Success in Search for Missing Boater, Yesterday

A missing boater has not been found after a full day of searching on the Mira River, yesterday.

Regional Police say the man in his 50’s from the area fell out of his boat while recreational fishing on Monday evening.

They add they got the call to Mira Ferry Lane in Albert Bridge, shortly after 7:00.

Yesterday, two police dive teams searched the area.

They were joined by water rescue units from the New Waterford, Glace Bay and Albert Bridge volunteer fire departments.

Cape Breton Ground Search and Rescue patrolled shorelines in the area and a helicopter was also involved in the search.
