Regional Council has decided to postpone the scheduling of a public hearing on a proposed RV Park and campground in Big Pond.
Council was considering a motion last night to have the hearing in January, but some people in Big Pond want the hearing held in April to give seasonal residents a chance to weigh in on the proposal.
A developer is seeking a zoning change to allow the park to go ahead, but opponents say the park would disturb people, traffic and scenery in the Big Pond area.
Council voted to decide on a hearing date next month.
Notice for the hearing has to be posted within 120 days of the developer’s application.
