No Date Set For Heavy Garbage Pickup

The Regional Municipality’s Solid Waste Department is reminding people no date has been set this year’s heavy garbage collection.

There have been rumours on social media about a date being set for next month.

Council did not set aside money for the annual service in this year’s budget.

However, it has voted to go ahead with heavy garbage pickup if there’s enough money left in the budget at the end of this month.

That depends on how much winter weather we get up to March 31st.

With snow if the forecast for later this week, final numbers won’t be available until that date.
