Nine New COVID Cases Reported

The province is reporting nine new cases of COVID-19 today, along with two new variant cases.

Six of the new cases are in the Central Zone.

Five of those are close contacts of previously reported cases and the other case is under investigation.

Two cases are in the Western Zone and are related to travel outside of Atlantic Canada.

One case is in the Eastern Zone and is related to travel outside the Atlantic Region.

Health officials say they’ve found two more UK variant cases unrelated to the cases reported today.

The latest variant cases were previously reported and related to travel.

Health officials also say they found two more school-related COVID-19 cases in the Halifax area today.

The cases at Dartmouth South Academy Elementary and Auburn Drive High are not included in the case numbers reported today.

There’s now a total of 70 confirmed active cases of COVID-19 in Nova Scotia, including 18 in the Cape Breton County Community Health Network.
