Newcombe To Make Eagles Warmup Appearance

The Cape Breton Eagles say forward Jacob Newcombe who’s fighting non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma will join the team for the season opener warmup before tomorrow night’s game.

The team says Newcombe’s s return to the ice is a testament to his resilience and love for the game.

After the warmup, Newcombe will join five year-old Avery Pynn for a ceremonial puck drop.

Newcombe is Pynn’s favourite Eagles player.

The boy raised $670 to help with the 19 year-old’s treatment by setting up a lemonade stand outside his house.
