New Waterford Woman Facing Attempted Murder Charge

A New Waterford woman has been charged with attempted murder after a stabbing in Pictou County.

23-year-old Emily Leudy is also facing a charge of Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose.

RCMP say they got a call on Tuesday night about a woman with stab wounds at a hospital in New Glasgow.

They say they later learned the 35-year-old was stabbed while driving in a vehicle in Little Harbour.

Police say the woman suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and has since been released from hospital.

Leudy is now on remand and is due in court in Pictou on Wednesday of next week.

Police say their investigation continues.
