New Waterford Native Dies After Aledged Care Facility Assault

A man who was born in New Waterford has died in hospital after he was allegedly assaulted at a home care facility in Lower Sackville.

Police say 56-year-old Gordon Longphee fell after being pushed by a 28-year-old co-resident at Quest Regional Rehabilitation Centre on May 11th.

Longphee succumbed to life-threatening injuries on Saturday.

An autopsy was scheduled for yesterday and police say their investigation is continuing.

Longphee’s funeral will take place in New Waterford on Friday.
