New Waterford Man Due In Court After Scotchtown House B & E

A 37 year-old New Waterford man is due in court today after Regional Police say a owners of Scotchtown house arrived home to find burglars inside on Friday night.

Police say they were called to the King Street address, shortly before 10:00.

They add the owners called police after they noticed the front door forced open and heard noises coming from inside the home.

However, they go on to say two suspects wearing masks came out of the house and ran away before officers arrived.

However, police say one man was later arrested in the area.

He was held at the Cape Breton Correctional Centre over the weekend and is due in court today on charges of break and enter, possession of stolen property and breach of probation.

Police say their investigation is still ongoing.
