New Waterford Hospital Rally on Sunday

Cape Breton Centre NDP MLA Tammy Martin plans to hold a rally in support of the New Waterford Consolidated Hospital on Sunday.

The rally comes on the heels of a provincial budget that promises more money for healthcare.

Martin continues to press the Liberal government on maintaining services at the New Waterford Hospital.

She points to a shutdown of the hospital’s Mobile Care Team.

The health authority says move is temporary and is needed to keep a full complement of emergency department nurses at the Regional Hospital.

Sunday’s rally is due to start at 1:00 in the afternoon at the New Waterford Army Navy club.
