New Waterford Emergency Room Closed on Tuesday

The emergency room at the New Waterford Hospital will be closed on Tuesday, August 16.

It will reopen on the next day, Wednesday, August 17, at 7 a.m.

The Nova Scotia Health Authority says the closure is due to a lack of physicians to cover the shift.

They also say New Waterford-area residents who need emergency service should call 911 or go to the emergency room at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital in Sydney.

If you have a non-urgent health matter, call 811 to speak to a registered nurse.
