Victoria Mines Man Killed in Crash Identified

The 20 year-old Victoria Mines man who died in a single-vehicle crash on the Gabarus Highway on the weekend has been identified through his obituary.

 Cody Alexander Burke was the driver of a pickup truck that left the road in Big Ridge and hit a telephone pole on Friday.

Regional Police say a 20 year-old New Waterford man who was a passenger in the truck was treated by paramedics for non-life threatening injuries.

Burke was a pipefitter and most recently worked with Suncor.

There will be no wake for him and his funeral will take place at 10:00 on Thursday morning at St. Leonard Church in New Waterford.
