New Ultrasound Unit In Eskasoni

A new ultrasound unit has opened at the Eskasoni Health Centre.

The provincial Health Authority says the unit was installed last month.

It says the unit has the latest technological capabilities and provides enhanced image quality.

Nova Scotia Health is responsible for the unit and accessory equipment costs while the health centre provides space and support.

The health authority says the unit will do about 140 non-urgent ultrasounds a month, or about 1,500 a year.

A doctor’s referral is required for an ultrasound and other diagnostic imaging tests.
