by The new Northside middle school will be built next to Memorial High in Sydney Mines.
Public Works Minister Fred Tilley made the announcement at Memorial High this morning.
The Northside middle school will replace Sydney Mines Middle School and have room for 260 students.
The new school will now advance to the design phase.
The government says that will include a steering team with parents, community members and school staff who’ll provide input on the design.
