New COVID restrictions take effect tomorrow

New, province-wide restrictions aimed at curbing the spread of COVID-19 over the holidays go into effect tomorrow morning.

Retail stores and malls can only allow 25 per cent of their capacity to enter, while restaurants have to stop serving by 10 PM and close by 11.

The new measures also include limiting any holiday gathering in your home to ten people, including the people who live there.

Churches can allow half of their capacity to attend services indoors, up to a maximum of 100 people.

Long-term care homes can allow a limited number of visitors, above the two designated caregivers per resident.

People are also being asked to avoid any unnecessary travel around the province.

The restrictions will remain in effect until January 10.
