Nearly A Third Of Province’s Emergency Departments Closed This Week

11 of the 37 emergency departments in the province are closed for at least part of this week.

The provincial Health Authority says most of the closures are caused by the unavailability of doctors.

Meanwhile, the emergency department at the Regional Hospital in Sydney is the only one open in the Regional Municipality until Wednesday.

The Emergency Department in New Waterford is due to reopen at 7:00 that morning.

Glace Bay’s emergency department is closed for the entire month of August while the emergency department at the Northside General is closed until August 28th.
