Nearly 15-hundred Still Without Power

There are still nearly 15-hundred Nova Scotia Power customers in Cape Breton without power after this week’s ice storm.

The outage stretches from the Morrison Road to Louisbourg and the Main-a-Dieu area, and parts of the Mira to Gabarus.

Nova Scotia Power says the outage is in a remote area and despite having extra crews in Cape Breton, the utility doesn’t expect to have the lights back on for most until 6:00, this evening.

George D. Lewis School in Louisbourg is cancelled today because of the power outage.
