NDP Hold Halifax-Needham

Lisa Roberts held the constituency of Halifax-Needham for the NDP in yesterday’s by-election.

The former journalist and community volunteer took more than half of the total votes with just over 25-hundred.

The Liberal’s Rod Wilson came second with 1,662 votes.

Progressive Conservative Andy Arsenault picked up 600 votes and the Green Party’s Thomas Trappenberg got 161.

Roberts replaces long-time NDP MLA Maureen MacDonald, who retired from politics in April.
