NDP Call For Inquiry Into Emergency Department Deaths

The provincial NDP is calling for an inquiry into emergency department deaths in the province.

The party says a freedom of information request reveals there were 558 emergency department deaths last year.

It says that’s the highest annual total in the last six years.

The NDP says people are increasingly worried about the state of emergency care in Nova Scotia after Allison Holthoff’s death at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre on New Year’s Eve.
