National Inflation Rate Drops To 2.8% In February

Statistics Canada says the national inflation rate for February was 2.8%.

That’s down from a 2.9% gain in January.

The federal agency says notable contributors to the drop were cellular services, groceries, and Internet access services.

However, it says gasoline prices rose .8% in February, following a 4% decline in January.

Nova Scotia’s inflation rate in February was also 2.8 percent.
