Statistics Canada says the national inflation rate for April was 1.7%.
That’s down from 2.3% in March.
The federal agency says the slowdown in April was driven by lower energy prices that fell 12.7%, following a .3% decline in March.
Meanwhile, grocery prices increased 3.8% in April compared with 3.2% in March.
Nova Scotia’s inflation rate in April was 1.3%, down from 2.3% in March.
