Statistics Canada says the national inflation rate in September was 1.6%.
That’s down from a 2% in August and is the smallest yearly increase since February of 2021.
The federal agency says the main contributor to the drop in inflation last month was lower year-over-year prices for gas.
The all-items inflation rate in September, excluding gasoline, was 2.2%, matching the increase in August.
Meanwhile, Nova Scotia’s September inflation rate was .9%.
