Mother Pleads Not Guilty To Accessory Charge in Reserve Mines Shooting

A Ben Eoin woman charged with being an accessory after the fact in a fatal June shooting in Reserve Mines entered a plea of not guilty, yesterday.

45 year-old Jennifer Lynn Chisholm was arrested after her 25 year-old son, Brandon James Berthiaume, was charged with first degree murder in the death of 24-year-old Brandon Kelly.

Chisholm is accused of receiving a black, leather biker’s vest from her son and knowing that he committed a murder.

The 25 year-old faces a count of first-degree and a second charge of attempted murder for firing shots at a second person.

Chisholm also elected to be tried by a Supreme Court judge and jury during yesterday’s court appearance.

She continues her release on conditions and is scheduled to return to court on April 11 for a preliminary hearing.
