Grocery stores, liquor stores and malls are shutdown.

Transit Cape Breton buses aren’t running today and all branches of the Cape Breton Regional Library are closed.

The Health Authority says holiday hours of 9:30 this morning until 4:30 this afternoon are in effect at the Northside General Hospital’s urgent treatment centre, today.

Because Heritage Day is a provincial holiday Canada Post delivery continues as usual today and post offices are open.

This year’s Heritage Day honours Grand Pré that’s celebrating a decade of being a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
