Morley Googoo Due in Court, Today

Former Waycobah chief and current Assembly of First Nations regional chief Morley Googoo is due in court today for an arraignment.

Googoo faces counts of assault and causing a disturbance after reports of a fight at the Hampton Inn in Membertou in June.

Googoo says it was an unfortunate incident that took place with hotel staff.

He’s been released on conditions that include remaining in the province as well as staying away from the Hampton Inn and the Membertou Trade and Convention Centre.

He’s also not allowed to communicate with the person he’s accused of assaulting.
