More roundabouts on Cape Breton roads are included in the province’s plans for the highways this year.
The province has set aside funds to upgrade the Port Hastings traffic rotary into a full-on roundabout.
Two more traffic circles are planned for Kings Road through Sydney River; the next will be built at Keltic Drive, while the third will be at the Kenwood Drive intersection.
The first roundabout on King’s Road has already been completed.
The new traffic circles are part of the province’s five-year, half-billion-dollar highway plan, which also includes improvements to the Cabot Trail and the new Mira Gut bridge set to be completed in 2022.
