More Reduction Of Hospital Services Because Of Omicron Wave

The Health Authority is further reducing hospital services because of the Omicron wave of COVID-19.

Only urgent surgeries, including time sensitive cancer surgeries are now taking place.

And, ambulatory care clinics and procedures will focus on urgent needs only.

Nova Scotia Health says it expects patients will continue to experience longer than usual waits for care in emergency departments over the coming weeks.

It says there are about 600 staff and doctors now off work because they have COVID-19 or they have to isolate because of close contact with a positive case.
