More Evacuations From Fort McMurray Fire

There were more evacuations from the Fort McMurray wildfire overnight after flames moved south of the city.

A mandatory evacuation order was put in place for three communities 50 kilometers to the south.

RCMP went door to door in Anzac, Gregoire Lake Estates and Fort McMurray First Nation while buses were sent in to take people to Edmonton.

An estimated 1,600 homes and buildings have been destroyed by the fire and Alberta has declared a state of emergency.

High temperatures that helped to fan the fire are expected to fall today, but officials say it could be days before the situation is under control.
