More COVID Restrictions Eased

The province is easing some more COVID-19 restrictions.

It’s introducing what’s being called an immediate family bubble, where two immediate family households are allowed to come together without physical distancing.

However, each of the two groups will not be allowed to meet with any other groups if they’re not social distancing.

Other new measures include allowing a number of outdoor activities as long as people keep their distance.

Those include golf, sailing, archery, horse riding, and tennis.

Public beaches will also re-open, but people will have to stay two metres apart and not gather in groups of more than five.

Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Robert Strang says the lifting of restrictions will depend on how well people follow the rules, and he says some restrictions could be reintroduced if COVID-19 starts to spread widely again.
