More COVID-19 Restrictions Lifted

The province announced another round of easing COVID-19 restrictions this afternoon.

They include restaurants and bars being allowed to open at full capacity if there’s appropriate distancing between tables.

Campgrounds can now operate at full capacity, public pools can reopen with some physical distancing restrictions, and people living in homes funded by disability support programs can go back out into their communities.

Some restrictions on outdoor and indoor events will be lifted a week from today.

Despite the lifting of restrictions, Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Robert Strang says it’s important to keep following the rules that are still in place in order to prevent a major resurgence of COVID-19.

The province says now that more restrictions have been lifted, it’s strongly recommending people wear a non-medical mask in places where distancing can’t be kept.
