More Charges In Northside Fires

Regional Police have charged a third person in connection to a number of suspicious fires on the Northside in the spring and summer.

33 year-old Gary Richard Luker, from North Sydney, is facing two charges of Arson.

Police say they arrested Luker on Friday, and he was later released on conditions.

He’s now due in Sydney Provincial Court on January 17th.

This comes after charges were brought against volunteer firefighters Stephen Tremblett and James MacDonald in connection to a host of suspicious fires in the Florence and Bras d’Or areas.

Police say the fires are still under investigation.
