Moment Of Silence To Mark Mass Shooting Anniversary

Premier Tim Houston is calling on people to observe a moment of silence at noon today and tomorrow to mark four years since the mass shooting in the province that killed 22 people.

Flags at Province House and all provincial government buildings and institutions are at half-mast from sunrise today to sunset tomorrow.

Citizens, businesses and community organizations that fly flags are also encouraged to lower them to half-mast, today and tomorrow.

The province and Ottawa held a public inquiry into the shooting and the circumstances surrounding it.

The Mass Casualty Commission released its final report last year, with 130 recommendations for preventing similar events in the future and improving public safety.
